A Good OC for a x1950GT?

using catalysts auto configure it gave me 641 & 770. It has been running stable and idles at around 50c at load the highest i have seen it is around 68-70c. I was just wondering if this was any good or what other people have been able to get out of them.
 
256mb or 512mb?

I have a 256mb version. I had to update the bios (Sapphire from newegg for $115 or so AR) and then use ATI Tool .27b to OC the thing or else the memory would cause it to freeze. I couldn't use the OC from the ATI drivers. I run mine around 650/800 for everyday use. I can get it up around 700/900 or so, but it's more temperature sensitive.
 
its the 256mb AGP card. I am already not liking the CCC though and will definately be switching to the ati tool.

Mine was PCIe, but I'd imagine the cores are the same (or at least similar). Like I said...I couldn't get ANYWHERE with the CCC OCing util on the memory. ATI Tool was definitely the way to go. Check for the X1000 series OCing in the settings. Enable driver level OCing.

yeah which is what surprised me the most. my 6800gt didn't over clock near the amount that this card did
 
Awesome! I just ordered my X1950GT a few days ago, it's suppose to be here tomorrow! :) Now since I don't have a great powersupply, I have to decide... overclock my GPU or CPU :eek:
 
My CPU's max operating temperature is between 60-70c. I have 2 x1950pro's in xfire over clocked to 620/793 (max according to CCC). Using atitools .27b and setting both fans to 100% my cards right now at idle are at 34c. After running 3dmark06 they never go past 47c.
Personally I think that is way hot for a GFX card to be running at. I don't use any liquid cooling, just air. If you've upped the voltage on it from the bios or something I would recommend setting it back to normal.

50c = 122f
68c = 154f

Thats a hot hot card! I'm trying to look for the max temps the x1950gt's are rated at.

68c wasn't even in the yellow on the nvidia driver warnings, ive never had a gpu run that cool
 
GPUs can handle 90C without a hitch, 100C pushing it. It isn't until you get 100+C that you might start getting artifacts, but not always. Anything 90C and below is standard though.
 
Do you guys leave the option to force 3D clocks on 24/7 in atitool? Is it okay to run the card overclocked 24/7? Or is it better to run default speeds and then load an overclocked profile before running a game?
