OP- this is a good start for someone and a decent price at today’s standards. The 9700k as far as gaming is concerned is still a capable CPU. It’s certainly not as potato as the folks here still running 3700k/4790 with old school gpus who still actually try to play modern games.

What really surprises me here is how many people run very dated systems. I’m glad they still participate in the forum tho.
