7900GT woes...

This has always been an issue with my 7900GT, but it's been very, very sporadic (like every few months)... up until I installed Vista.

On Vista, when I log on, I'm greeted by this screen:

It then fades out and into my desktop...
However, sometimes when I go back to the Log On screen (multiple accts), it'll go back to the distortion screen and stay that way until I restart or shut down the comp.

It also happens here and there with XP, as I explained above... typically during gaming and when I Alt+Tab out for a minute or two.

It sucks!! Anyone have the same issue? Any workarounds? Or is my only option to RMA the thing to EVGA (which I tried to do a few months ago but for some reason they wouldn't cross-ship like I did when I first got the card, so I canceled the RMA)?

I had that too with my XFX 7900GT. It recently died and is allready sent off for RMA.
I'd like to believe that vista messing up was the driver's fault, but I also had problems alt-tabbing out of games in XP that would leave me with a messed up screen. That never happened until afew weeks before it died.

That looks like the refresh rate is all screwed up.
