Hi guys. I am doing an upgrade but can't figure out which one is the best deal. (NO ATI vs NVIDIA war. I am not biased)

We are talking about factory overclocked non-reference cards like:
7870 asus directcu2 or gigabyte windforce3
7950 gigabyte windforce3
660ti msi pe.

Which one/which series is the most reasonable chooice for 1920x1080 gaming on single screen(with at least 2xaa)?

I had 8800gt for last 5 years and really got used to nvidia cp. I had ati cards 2 or 3 times and remember never liking ccc but it was YEARS ago. I want it to last at least 3 years with reasonable performance but that is hard to forsee because of new consoles incoming

I don't care much for physx, it's a nice lil bonus only. I don't play BF3 or mmo games :p
also - I am from Poland so please don't post newegg deals etc ;)
edit: Price range? I can afford 7950 but don't want to just buy most expensive gpu from that level blindly. If I can save some without/minimal loss in performance, it's worth considering. But at the same time - I want a good gaming rig. Just got that 2500k etc month ago :)
Also, Maybe I will attach it here: What psu should be good for that setup ?

Gigabyte 7950 is the best card from that list. I've used it myself; it is an excellent performer, and one of the quietest cards I've ever used.

It would be worth a slight premium over a 660 ti, but if there's a big price difference, you might consider a 660ti, because it still performs well at 1080p (it may take a performance hit going above 4x AA).

A good quality 550w should be more than sufficient for either card.

Overclocked 7870 perform as well or better than reference 7950. I dunno what the prices are like over there, but in the U.S. the 7870 is about $70 cheaper than a 7950. If its a similar price difference for you, I'd buy the 7870.

7950s can be found for $270 AR with that amazing games bundle, just on price alone it's cheaper/the same, and the performance is much better and will last him at least 3 years, and the games he get is a nice bonus if he wants those games

getting the 2nd highest tier card in a generation is generally the way to go

660ti and 7950 are more/less the same price.
7870 is about 60usd cheaper

that is 550ti/7950 are around 1250pln
and 7870 is about 900-950 pln

In my long life on those board (14 posts and counting) I've had at least 3 responses that didn't pay attention to my post :)

But on topic, my sense is that any of the above would be great at 1080p, just a matter of how much you want to squeeze out those last few FPS at whatever settings you want. Supposedly the 7950s are pretty overclockable even beyond factory OC, which may help. I say that not actually owning one but reading reviews for like a month straight :)

Yeah. Prices differences are the same here. about 70$ cheaper.
660ti and 7950 are aobut the same price tho.

Ok, So i gues we eliminated 660ti at all and are left with 7870 and 60-70$ more expensive 7950.

Which 7870 should I conisder as best?
I did the research about 7950 and gigabyte windforce version seems to be best of that line

gigabyte is one of the best. 2nd only to msi in my opinion although many people swear by ASUS.

that is an excellent price.

Here is the card you should get, the Sapphire 7870 for $185 AR.

It's like some people don't even bother to read past the title.

I was waiting for that to happen. :)

LOL @ this thread

Anyway, the 7870s are great, but they seem to be on the loud side for my traditional top two picks for AMD (Gigabyte and MSI). Sapphire or ASUS is probably your best choice if you want cooling and/or low noise.

7950 definetly. Not sure why you're comparing the 7950 and the 660 ti when the 7950 beats out the gtx 670 now with 12.11 drivers

If you don't mind overclocking 7950 is probably the best deal going around at the moment.

I have had 2 7870's and I play at 1080p on a 27 inch withno probs I cant see paying extra for neglible gaines at my res.

I run with the 7870 and pocket the rest. I was looking at the 660ti / 7950 / & GTX670, but I ended with a MSI GTX 670 PE

OP the HD 7950 is a much better card than HD 7870. the Gigabyte HD 7950 Windforce is one of the best cards. the cooler is fantastic. When it comes to overclocked performance HD 7950 (1.15 Ghz) is around 25% faster than HD 7870 (1.25 Ghz) . go for the HD 7950.

the price is 1187 bucks. less than the 1250 you mentioned
