There is a really good article today that demonstrates / explains 7 ways to be mistaken for a spammer. While many of you are scoffing at the notion, you’d actually be surprised how wide spread the problem is.

Naiveté, dumb luck, or just plain laziness can stuff your company into the spam can if you're not careful. By making any one of several common mistakes, your company can encounter blocking of its marketing emails, newsletters, or other key customer interactions.

At work, we've banned the use of AOL email ads for our store, because idiot AOL users just mark our store emails (i.e. your item has been dispatched etc) as spam with a single click and AOL is stupid enough to believe them and do it on a blanket basis. They are a hair-trigger for incorrectly identifying you as a spammer. Totally nuts.
