6x 1080 Founders cards listed as coming soon on Newegg

Ncix.ca has them listed as in stock. Only ones are the +100.00 $ founders, not any of the AIB designs. 909.99 $ Cdn,which is nuts!

Which is too bad and too much. My Fury X and Nano run everything I play perfectly right now. Pamela or Cyberpunk 2077 might change that, next year,maybe.... I doubt it. I play at 1080 and 1440,but mostly with a HMD,when home.

MSRP = $699
If your talking about the 980TI cards that may be so but they haven't been as high as they are now for quite some time. They were getting pretty low after rebate here recently and even their pre rebate price was much lower then it is now. Some of the cards still aren't priced bad while others are insanely overpriced.

On the other hand yes the MSRP is said to me $100 more then the normal MSRP for 1080 cards for these founders edition cards. Which in it's own right is a joke because you get nothing from a founders card from what I read. Other then to buy the first stock of 1080 cards. To me WGAF lol I'll wait.

NCIXUS has them listed also two for the $700 then a couple for a insane amount.
PFFT My 290x runs everything at max still including everything I've tried on my U3415W which isn't much yet lol but still. So to have a Fury X I think your good for a bit yet. Well I take that first bit back. FSX has it's problems but it does on any computer because of MS poor optimization of the engine.

What is hilarious is we've got like, a dozen AIBs selling an exactly identical card. I wonder how they are going to differentiate, or are we just going to get a dozen cards with the same price and exact same specs/build?

The 980's launched with a bunch of identical cards, too. I don't think all 6 big OEM's launched the same card, but at least 3-4 (like Asus and MSI) did.

Yea us Canadians get among the worst hardware pricing just as bad as Australia's pricing for hardware. If you think NCIX's listing is bad enough you should see Canada Computers whopping $999.99 (without taxes of course) preorder price.

Not when you have Canada Computers selling it for $999.99. Our Canadian dollar isn't that bad to make such a huge markup and it's Canada Computers that is ridiculous to do such a thing at this time.

A 10% markup for a high demand item doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Sure, I don't want to pay it, and I won't. But it's not like the marketplace resellers marking things up 2-3 times their msrp.

Canada Computers pricing is generally insane to begin with. They just closed one of the outlets just up the St from me. It was actually the first of 5 in total.

With the eCONomy in the toilet worldwide,I don't think the 1080 will be a high demand item. Both my Sig Fury and Nano were open box from NCIX with big markdowns,I would never pay msrp. People are getting laid off, left, right and center, near everywhere.

If that's the case then you can expect to see a price drop as the cards sit on the shelf...but I honestly would not hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

They will sell at the higher price and the retailers know that

I don't get whats sickening about the Canadian price? As someone else mentioned, that is the conversion of 700 USD to CAD... in fact its slightly less.. that converts $911 CAD.

The conversion is whats sickening.

what conversion are you using? last time i checked our dollar was at 78 cents. I know i just bought something from the US today and i was charged 1.246 per US dollar on my CC so even assuming 75cents per dollar, it should be 875.

I think what our northerly neighbors are saying is that the $909 price is based on a rather bogus exchange rate. And they are probably right.

You are going to get a shit ton of identical FE cards on the market. Nvidia is having the hardware produced and selling that same hardware to the OEMs for FE cards.

While the canadian dollar is in the toilet -- look at it this way... you get shafted on computer parts - but you guys can go to the doctor anytime/anywhere and not wind up having to dig into savings accounts or take out a home equity loan to pay medical bills. Give and take... if a hobo attacks your face with an axe... you can get it taken care of quick and cheap :) Not so here in the US.

Sure you can, if you have insurance. The USA has the best healthcare in the world, if you're insured.

Even if you don't have real insurance, everybody in the US has at least a HMO now due to the ACA. Not the best care in the world and a total pain in the butt to deal with them, but you won't need to refinance your house after an axe attack.

I missed the part in modern US history where people without insurance were unable to get medical care in emergencies... Could they get prescription drugs, therapy and messages? No... But they got medical care when it was needed, always.

"As reported by the Health Council of Canada, a 2010 Commonwealth survey found that 42% of Canadians waited 2 hours or more in the emergency room, versus 29% in the U.S.; 43% waited 4 weeks or more to see a specialist, versus 10% in the U.S. The same survey states that 37% of Canadians say it is difficult to access care after hours (evenings, weekends or holidays) without going to the emergency department over 34% of Americans."

The Uninsured: Access To Medical Care // ACEP

The "Affordable Care Act" is nothing more than an attempt by the government to try to lower the costs of healthcare by forcing the uninsured to pay for insurance or pay a fine.... Its solely for the benefit of insurance companies and hospitals, nothing else (basically giving them more money on the hopes that they will be honest and lower their costs)... The plan gave no damns about lowering the costs of healthcare by perhaps lowering the costs of prescriptions, allowing price-shopping and cross-state competition, or one of the many solutions that wouldnt cost the American Citizens (things thankfully both Trump and Sanders are proposing)...

Ignorance is at an all time high in the US, and trendy catch phrases like "healthcare for all" seem to matter more than actual details. *sigh*

I literally saw someone on TV today get upset at someone for using the term "those people" when refering to a group of protesters that had an extremely diverse ethnicity and gender... You cant even talk about groups of mixed race/sex people any more because catch phrases and being 'politically correct' matter to people more than anything...

I am saddened by my fellow countrymen/women who have no concern for real details and information, and instead want to champion catch phrases and 'causes' that make them feel morally superior...

Lets all aspire to be like Canada, with their tanking economy, $910 1080s, and mediocre everything! right? :(

if you use hoverhound you can see prices before they're listed. Newegg seems to want $704.98 for all of these founder edition cards. a $5 early-early adopters fee.

As someone who works in the healthcare industry and has worked both in the USA and Canada for years I can tell you the US healthcare system is not as rosey as you think it is.

Wait times are reduced.. fantastic.. it comes at a big cost though. And I'm not just talking about the cost of private medical insurance. There is an incredible abundance of people that cannot afford any healthcare and although emergency medical care might be provided, time and time again I saw patients that had terrible diseases that needed emergency treatment that could have been prevented or treated at a much later and less aggressive stage. These people end up with far greater morbidity and suffering that someone with even a modicum of medical care earlier on would have. I cannot count the number of times middle class or poor patients stated they couldn't afford insurance and simply put off serious signs and symptoms of disease.

Both healthcare systems have their faults but to imply the US one is vastly superior speaks to someone who doesn't truly understand the healthcare system from the frontline and is instead dealing with a sample size of 1.

As for the economy... yes our dollar is weaker but to me that is a small price to pay to live in such a peaceful and beautiful country. One with substantially lower crime, pollution, population congestion and one that is not trying to be the police of the world (at least under the reigns of some US leaders).

Interesting right before the cards go live on Newegg the selection on the left for the 1000 series cards isn't even there anymore. My original link in the OP yields these results:

We have found 0 items that match "".

I saw Nvidia tweet they will go up at 6AM PDT. But i have no idea what store they are referring to.

I actually agree with you on the part about being politically correct -- this country (US) is a crapfest of ignorance because everyone wants to play a race card, or sympathy card or this and that. I'm from Texas -- I call a spade a spade. I care very little about political correctness on any level, to sum it up, most people are pussies when it comes to discussing something.

On the medical front -- the US has some of the most advanced medical tech no doubt, but even when I have good insurance I still wind up owing a few grand just to have some nurse pack a spider bite with gauze? Hell right now, even with the "platinum dental plan" from work, the only place I can go is some ghetto ass doctor in a shithole building, I actually decided to just pay out of pocket so I can go get a checkup at a decent place. There's a whole host of problems contributing to the sad state of medical care in the US, and none of it wants to be dealt with because it's a popular thing in this country to never be able to tell any group for any reason "no you want to be part of the system you have to contribute"
