Does anyone see any immediate problems with me running 4 sticks of mismatched DDR2 RAM on a P965 Asus p5b-deluxe?

I'd be running 2 1gb sticks, and 2 2gb sticks... Both are the Geil Black Dragon RAM (I have a chance to get these sticks for free - so don't worry about their specs).

The RAM would be run, underclocked, at around 790mhz, in the proper dual channel config of course.

I'd be running a 64b Windows 7 Install.

:)

As long as you set the memory setting in the BIOS manually I don't see any "immediate" problems. Just keep in mind this is not exactly recommended.

Yeah, I'd be running fairly loose timings, a bit of an over volt and at around DDR2-790...

I see no reason to get fast RAM, when I'm clearly bottlenecked by my lack of RAM right now.

And really, who can complain with free!

On a 965 chipset you "might" have to either drop a bit lower to 667 or so or, raise the memory controller voltage quite a bit over stock. It will depend on your individual memory controller.
