Hi, I am looking to improve my connection across my house and I will be getting a 6dbi directional antenna with a reverse-TNC connector for my WRT54G. My question is this, do I need to buy 2 or just one antenna?

If this is the device I think it is, then you should be able to get away with one. There is a setting in the web interface which lets you use left/right/both antenna<sp>

You'll lose your ability to use spatial diversity by only using one antenna. Probably won't hurt you but make sure you don't have the AP in a corner or enclosed area if you are only going to use one rabbit ear.

Take it out of any enclosed space and you probably don't need an aftermarket antenna. With it being in a cabinet the added gain on the radiator may not matter. Just an extremely bad location for an Access Point.
