Hi,

I have an old q6600 system on an xfx 680i sli chipset motherboard.

I want to install whs2011 on it with a 150gb primary drive and 2 wd 3tb drives for data. The bios sees the drives as 3000gb, but the installer for whs report 746gb,

I've read of people correcting this post install but updating the sata driver in the device manager (but that's in windows7). Whs2011 is built on (i think) server2008. So, I've had a tough time finding information on this.

Thanks,

I'd install on 150GB first, then add the other drives later and add/format them with GPT after you have WHS installed.

I use multiple 4TB drives in WHS2011 and haven't had any issues adding them later.

Hi, thanks for the advice. That is what I'll do.

I tried already and of course, ran into this error: *minimum 160gb harddrive.

I'm trying to use an old velociraptor enterprise 150gb drive as the C drive. I literally have a stack of 3tb drives and this one 150gb drive - so I might have to actually go buy a drive to install.

Thanks,

I wish I knew about this before I went and bought a 240gb ssd, lol! Maybe I can clone it now onto the smaller drive?
