I'm a bit confused about the maximum bandwidth available to each device on an SATA channel. In the pic below, taken from the eVGA manual for a 680i SLI board, it shows that there are 2 channels assigned to 3 different controllers:

2 Questions:
1) In this case does each controller or each channel receive the full 300MB/s?
2) If you are setting up a RAID 0 stripe using 2 drives on this board, would it be better/faster to use channels on the same controller (SATA 1 and 2) or channels on separate controllers (eg. SATA 1 and 3)?

Thanks in advance,

They all will receive an "Up to 300MB/sec" speed, from whichever channel you're connecting them to.

I'd would run raid on channel 1-2, or 3-4

Is there documentation somewhere for this? Nvidia's site is always full of marketing with no actual specs. Thanks!
