Just put together a new computer last week. Maximus VIII Gene, 6700K, G.Skill PC4-17000 (2x8GB), Samsung 950 Pro, Seagate 520 Platinum Fanless.

Memtest, LinX, everything rock solid stable.

Then I started to notice these graphical artifacts on the desktop.

Put in a old Nvidia 7600GT (my trusted bench card) and no issues. Can run Prime95 and rthdribl at the same time and zero issues.

Remove the 7600GT and go back to Intel graphics and launch Prime95, then rthdribl and instant restart. Disable turboboost lets it last a few seconds then instant restart. Drop the multi to 35 and test again fine all night, but still with the graphical artifacts. Power rails show good in HWmonitor, tried another seagate 520 Platinum PSU that I have just in case and same issues.

Anyone seen this before? Bunk CPU? Bios updated to latest, all settings on AUTO.

Do you have a different cpu to see if that fixes the issue? I would try that first and if it doesn't work you can narrow the issue down to the motherboard. If the motherboard is the issue it could be that maybe a circuit somewhere isn't making proper contact. In that case you could RMA the motherboard for a replacement. If for some reason you cant get a replacement you could try reflow soldering the motherboard in the oven like you can do with video cards. I have fixed probably 15 video cards this way and it does work. But I wouldn't risk it if you can just RMA for a replacement.

I do not have any other skylake compatible parts (lots of ive bridge though...)

I ended up sending parts back to memory express. They determined it was both the motherboard and CPU.

My theory is there was something wrong with the motherboard power section which buggered up the graphics on the CPU. Replaced motherboard fixed the restarting under load and replacing CPU fixed the graphics artifacts.
