I can't afford to upgrade my entire rig, but I'd like to buy a new vid card at least. I'm looking at the 6600GT. Only problem is, my mobo only supports up to 4x AGP. Is this going to limit the performance I see from the card, since the 6600GT is 4x/8x?

On a side note, will I be wasting my money matching this card with a P4 2.3GHz, 512MB DDR? Currently I'm running an ATi 9600.

AGP 4x is fine, you'll barly lose some performance if any at all. Your cpu and ram are fine too.

Yup, no problems with running a 6600GT in an AGP 4X slot. That's still plenty of bandwidth. :)

Yeah, I initially had the 6600GT I used to have running on a mobo with an
AGP 4x slot.....didn't notice much difference when I upgraded the mobo
to one with an 8x slot.
