650w PSU good enough for a 980 Ti?

I currently have an EVGA P2 650w PSU. Would I be pushing it with a EVGA 980 Ti SC? Will I still have room for overclocking? I'll be pairing it with either an i7-4770k or i5-4670k, haven't decided. Not too knowledgeable with PSU's so some advice/reassurance would be helpful.

Here are my specs. The i5 is listed right now but may use my i7-4770k if I have enough PSU to power it with OC.

You should be fine!

I run a TX650 on the rig in my sig and used the same PSU for my old oc'd 2500K with the oc'd 980ti. Never had an issue.

When I did the math you are at a ballpark 425-450 watts for your setup.

I find that PCPartPicker's estimates are pretty solid. I usually take that and add about +150w for overclocking, to be safe.
 
How about 980Ti SLI on that 650W PSU?

It will work, but it will be pushing it. We have a build on these forums where a guy is running 980 SLI (non-TI) off a 550W PSU and has some room to spare.

I'm known for telling people to not waste their money on too much of a PSU since it doesn't do anything for you. But if you plan to go 980ti SLI you should go with a 750W PSU, 850W if you plan to OC.

You have no idea what his other specs are so 650 may not work at all.

Fair point. Generally, most people have 1-2 optical drives, 1-2 HDDs, a handful or fewer fans, etc. These generally use the 5v and 3.3v rails, whereas the CPU and GPU utilize the 12V rail(s). Unless he has an uncommon setup, he'll fall under the same general guidelines as anyone else.

the mobo use itself somearound 50W, each RAM DIMM use 3-5 W, each fan 5-8, + HDD+ optical + + +, this outside we take in consideration "CPU and GPU"

Yeah, I'd go 750W minimum for 980 Ti SLI, but recommend 850W for some headroom whether or not you're overclocking.
