5870 -domino alc - mod

Ok guys my earrlier post here
showing a hacked up 5870 stock hsink to cool memory and vrm.

Domino alc water cooler and a few pics. I still need to epoxy more heatsinks on the 5870 plate and hook up a fan for em . domino water cooler blowing in under 5870. Yeah its upside down, I know ! Dusty as hell too.
so far so good.

Isn't that bad for the gpu just using 2 screws.. maybe the other holes dont match up.

Heck yea i love ghetto mods. Not bad for a domino on a 5870 either. Pretty dang impressive right there.

thats awesome actually, I was thinking about picking up a second corsair (1 on my cpu now) and seeing if I could make that work, hrmmm....

How much better temps? going over 1.350 volts?

1050 on 1.31v gpu / 1300 memory.
memory will not go higher stable.
interesting thing at 15 mhz more on memory got me 8-10fps increase in a demo I made l4d2
I gues the gpu is bandwith starved over 1000 mhz. memory at 1.175 v no go
If i put caps on does it help under room temp water ?

XFX 5970 here and I cant do 1mhz over 1220
What are your temps @ 1312 with that setup over stock?

1 problem with corsair h50 rad fins to close together = dust in a week or 2 clogging rad.
and looks harder to mount it on gpu.


domino easier to mount. comparable to h50. I had to cut the mount plate and drill holes ..only 2 holes will work
holds fine .
no increase in temps stay around 25 idle and 42-48 c in l4d2 meduim fan,never over 52c in games

^ I have noticed that about my h50, lots of dust collects fast.
My 5780 sits upside down so mounting it wouldn't be super hard alto crossfire would never fit, hrm... maybe a domino it is!
