There's plenty of 5090s available. It's just that they are comically overpriced right now, and finding one at MSRP is very difficult. I'm glad you snagged one, though.
Yes, true. There is simply a limited market that is willing to spend $3k+ on a video card for entertainment purposes.
My local MC has a bunch of these in stock as well.
LOL. I imagine so since they want a kidney or partial liver. My local MC has a bunch of these in stock as well.
Yeah, $3,479.68 definitely makes it feel "wrong" when I see it in the cart. I always hit Cancel.LOL. I imagine so since they want a kidney or partial liver.
Literally almost paying the price of a second 5090 for a few bells and whistles. Insane.Yeah, $3,479.68 definitely makes it feel "wrong" when I see it in the cart. I always hit Cancel.
If they priced it lower the scalpers would buy them and sell them at a higher price.AIB's are willingly overcharging here- they could easily hit the <$2500 mark if they wanted.
Local Microcenter (Cambridge) has plenty of 9070xts in stock for $699- tempted but I feel like I'm being penalized $100 for not being able to line-up launch day to get the (clearly made-up) MSRP of $599. I might go $50 over but no more than that.
It seems like it's the thing now for GPU companies to set fake-MSRPs for launch so reviewers will base their reviews around them. Clearly unethical and very much anti-consumer.

100%. Went from wanting a 5090 to now I'm just so pissed about not being able to get the one I wanted early on, that I have seen it a few times at 3.2k (was 2.6k originally) and hard passed every time. Plus, after playing Doom The Dark Ages fully maxed at 4K on my 4090, and maxing out my monitor at 144 with Frame Gen on, perfectly happy with my 4090. Honestly, I don't even know what is coming out that will even push my 4090 to its limits. Every game still remains absolutely playable maxed out, and "worst" case I use DLSS instead of DLAA, which on the new transformer model still looks amazing. With GTA6 pushed (and who knows when PC will get it), I do not see any games that are going to force my hand in the pipeline.View attachment 731147
Houston MC sitting on plenty atm. I think most people are fed up with these prices. They're absolutely loaded with 5080, 5070ti, 5070, 7900XTX, 9070XT, etc compared to just 2-3 weeks ago.
How so? Scalpers are literally doing this, so i am inline with the empirical evidence.Stating "if we didn't sell it for higher someone else will" is a fallacious argument.
Its not because they are a insane deal, its because of high demand and low supply. Now that supply has caught up, they arent moving. How so? Scalpers are literally doing this, so i am inline with the empirical evidence.
Source?I'll wait for the RTX-6xxx series due late 2026, which is supposed to go back to huge performance gains and be more efficient.

Just looked up the definition of demand and price definitely wasnt listed.Demand is price. That's literally what we mean when we say demand. You cannot disconnect supply from demand (price). So you're NOT disagreeing with me when saying supply is adjusted to current prices. That's literally what I am saying.
If supply keeps going up, prices will necessarily fall. That's how it works
Hard to tell. Last round they didnt reduce price and instead decided to stop making all cards for the 6 months leading up to RTX 5000 series. It was a rushjob so supply was as bad as it could get. What do you think 5090s will normalize at price wise, say end of summer/early fall? Will Nvidia start to restrict supply of 5090 chips to keep prices propped up?
Sure it isJust looked up the definition of demand and price definitely wasnt listed.
So you're claiming that's how economists think of demand based on a generic definition. This isn't an interesting (read as: unintelligent) conversation.
Im not claiming that, your trying to put words in my mouth since i disagree with you. You can keep your luck.So you're claiming that's how economists think of demand based on a generic definition. This isn't an interesting (read as: unintelligent) conversation.
Best of luck.
It's what comports with all available empirical evidence.Scalpers are a different case- MSRP exists for a reason. If they were really concerned about scalpers they would do more to combat them- saying "Scalpers are just going to buy them all up at MSRP and sell them to our customers at a markup anyways" is just a lame excuse so manufacturers can overcharge.
I think its the newer con game they can play with a niche market. Regular PC users are not going to waste the money and will just get a xbox or playstation."Scalpers are just going to buy them all up at MSRP and sell them to our customers at a markup anyways" is just a lame excuse so manufacturers can overcharge.
As of now at the Miami Micro Center store:

Unsold inventory is expensive, so if they're not selling at current prices I would expect downward pressure to work.More in stock now, but didn't sell a single one since my last post. This could be it and once stock gets up a bit the prices should lower in the coming weeks.

The FOMO crowd may finally be tapped out. We'll see I guess.More in stock now, but didn't sell a single one since my last post. This could be it and once stock gets up a bit the prices should lower in the coming weeks.

This your 3rd 5090 now?Picked up an open box 5090 MASTER ICE for $2699.99 at MC - color doesn’t match but oh well. Has all ROPs. Registered it and got the 4 year Gigabyte warranty. 2513 start to the SN so hopefully no gel issues...
