Hello,

Since my beautiful Silverstone CW-03B was ruined in transit (Thanks DHL...), i have to buy another HTPC case. I no longer want to spend that much on a case and the LCD, although it was cool, was more a gadget than being really useful. I am considering either the Lian Li C60B or the C33B. I want to stick with Lian Li. (i always had them and I was disapointed at Silverstone..). The very strange and stupid thing is that Lian li produces HTPC cases since a good while but they do not offer bay devices for remotes to fit their case. Only the PC-34B has this integrated.

Are there any bay device on the market that has this? Because I see no use of HTPC without a remote. I may consider USB dongles too, but I would prefer not see this laying in front of my A/V setup.

Thanks,

Serge

Hey crimand, thanks for the suggestion. I didn't consider/know that I could mount it inside. I am just curious but how would you do that? I looked for infrared receivers on performance-pcs but I found nothing that could connect to the USB adapters you shown me.

Thanks bencorn for the Antec veris. It is a nice product, exactly what I was looking for. I realized however that if I use this with the Lian Li C60, there will be no more room for a card reader (second 5¼ bay).

Also, I am willing to drill the face plate of the case to add a receiver. This is another option.

You just need an internal USB to external adapter like the ones I linked too. My Antec Fusion came with one too.

Just look for a good looking remote who's receiver is smallish.

The little square HP receivers are great for this, I've got one and I can easily mount it inside my case (Antec Fusion with the LCD removed) without taking it apart.

Works great, and is cheap. You can order it with or without the remote. I drilled a small hole in the front of my Silverstone GD-05, and used hot-melt glue to hold it in place. A little black sharpie to the hole to make it black, and you cannot even notice it!

Does it require that PCB board that it says is "not included" ? And it looks like that only comes with the $250 silent case

The power board is for allowing it to turn the HTPC on using the remote. It's not needed. Clearly you can buy the remote and the receiver as it, otherwise they wouldn't be offering it for $12. I'm really going to have to get one when I have some spare cash. :)
