Well, I was going to choose an 65 inch for my bedroom until I had someone telling me a 65 inch will be too big for my bedroom space and should downsize to an 55 inch 4k tv. I was going to pick up a Vizio P65-F1 but now I might just go with the Vizio P55-F1. I posted a picture from where my chair (where I'll be sitting) is compare to my tv stand. What would you guys recommend me getting from that distant? BTW I measure it and it's 4 and a half feet away from my chair.

My other question, I know Vizio or any other company cuts the FALD zone counts in half. Would this affect the picture quality because of the less zone counts? compare to the 65 inch? Please any help would be great and thank you for reading this.

I think most people would be happy with a 49" at that distance. So yeah, 65" is too big.

I just got the LG 65UH6030 65" for my livingroom, and the Samsung UN55JU650DFXZA 55" I had in the livingroom moved into the bedroom. I'm about 10ft away of the Samsung TV in the bedroom and 12ft away from the LG in my livingroom. Perfect viewing to both from the distances.

55" at that distance you are is pretty close. 65" is too much tv for that little space. Best to stick with a 49"

xD this made me laugh hard for some reason lolol.

And yeah guys I might choose the 55 inch. Just wish the 65 would of been a better fit for the room.

I've been using a 55" Samsung TV as a monitor for about a week. It's definitely too big on a computer desk, and I considered returning it, but I like the picture a lot and probably will try to get used to it.

I think 55" could work in your setup, but it will be on the larger size. 65" is probably crazy if you plan to use as a monitor. For strictly gaming and movie watching, I think you could do it.

Was thinking about getting at least a 50" for a class b sprinter as a tv/pc monitor. Think I'll still go w/ at least a 50", as long as the mount holds.

I sit 36" away from a 43" 4k Monitor. I could probably do 49" but that is where I would stop. If you do everything full screen, I think you will find that 65" is a little much. As others have pointed out, large screens are really nice, so there really is no "Too Big". Just understand that the closer you sit the more you will have to move your head to watch all of the screen.

Your picture looks like you probably sit 4-5' away so I think a 49-55" would be ok. This graph shows that 60-65" would be max you'd want to go but as low as 30" would be acceptable and 50" would be the "Sweet Spot"

I've been looking into 65" models over that few months since so many things go on sale around Jun-Aug. From reading a lot of reviews it seems somewhat common for more image quality issues to happen at 65" or larger. It can vary from blur, ghosting, color saturation, etc. These issues can happen on any model at any size but it seems like once you get larger than 55" imperfections can also increase. Really comes down to individual preferences though. I'd recommend 55" for the money. Better price breaks, may also allow you to get higher quality panel with better options, HDR10+/Dolby Vision, VRR true 120hz, etc. The only thing I'd recommend against is OLED. Sure the PQ is awesome but rtings and other places are reporting more incidents of burn in. Also raise it a little, that table is a little low for the best viewing angle.

A friend of mine has a Samsung KS7005 (Nordic KS8000) at roughly the same distance, a 55" model is pretty much spot on for that space.

Also spend some money on a good chair, yours looks like it's one sitting away from falling apart.

I second this post. Spend $300 bones and pick yourself up a good chair before another TV.

I hear ya. All my chairs have been hand me downs one way or another. Sacrifice one thing so the eyes can enjoy another. From wheels to bad springs, my back will echo the same to getting a new chair. Meanwhile, Kyle has done a number of chair reviews here on [H]ard. I think after my next round of upgrades I'll finally get a new chair too.

One other detail that I just remembered and mentioned in another thread. Check the reviews for any model and see if it's getting feature upgrade support thru firmware updates. Not all do. I've seen a number of 2017 models that started with 4k HDR10 and got DolbyVision added in updates. Won't matter a whole lot for pc gaming but Xbox and PS4 are both putting effort into support HDR stuff, and most certainly movies and streaming are.

I have some cable management stuff I haven't used yet but I use a gladiator workbench and have the TV wall mounted. 55" works great... This was just a quick snap of now... I'll clean it up when I'm not in the middle of a project.

After spending more time, I think I can handle the 55". Really awesome for media consumption. Here's a pic of the setup.
