4870x2 CrossfireX screen gets screwed up then game crashes.

I have two 4870x2 cards and am running them in crossfire. With crossfire enabled whenever I run a game, about ten minutes in the game will freeze, and the screen will get all messed up with weird colors and lines going through it. Then I have to hard restart the computer. What could possibly be the problem? I've tried different drivers, so it's not the drivers. Does not happen with crossfire disabled.

I7 920 @ 4GHZ
3gb corsair ddr3
1200w psu
evga x58 motherboard

90c below on core doesn't mean 90c on VRAM..

and that is the most common overheat issue...

usually VRAM will have 10-20c above compare to GPU temp..

that just my experience.....
 
Just out of curiosity do they run individually without issue?

Well I know for a fact that the top card is fine because with crossfire disabled I have no issues. I'm going to try swapping the bottom card in for the top one, and take the other one out to see if that card has any issues in a bit.
 
Well I've tried both FEAR 2 and Crysis. After taking both cards out and blowing the dust out of them, and reinstalling them, I haven't had any more issues yet. It may have been a heat related issue after all.
