Hey guys, I have the following system:
Q6600 (stock)
Abit IB9
8 gigs memory
ATi 4850 (newest drivers)
Windows 7
Ever since I've started playing newer games I've had huge problems in those games. Arkham Asylum, Just Cause 2, and Borderlands are a few examples. I can play them anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour with no problem, but then eventually the system totally freezes, and the sound continues for about 20 seconds, looping the past second or so, until it stops, and then the screen turns gray. This also happens if I play any kind of 3d game and watch something with Windows Media Player, but VLC does not have this problem from what I've seen.
The system and video card are not overheating at any point.
Keep in mind that this doesn't happen in any older game, even ones that stress the system.
