4670k & 4770k purchased anwhere operating performance thread

I managed to go down to 1.212V on 4.4ghz. That seems like a nice bargain. It can hit 90C in prime, but good temps in normal use (gaming, video converting)

I've been trying to dig up some info on the batch for the 4670k I just picked up but can't seem to find anything with the batch number anywhere... Anyone know anything about a Costa Rican batch 3312B693?

Very similar to my 4770k. Im running it at 4.4Ghz with 1.205v, 12 hours Prime95 stable. Our chips are probably still good ones, I read that many people need 1.250-1.300v for 4.4Ghz.

I'm using a custom water loop and the maximum temp spikes in Prime still hit 77°C but normal Prime load is around 65°C max and FFmpeg video encoding (uses AVX) is at only 55-56°C which im very comfortable with.

Yep very similar, i managed to go down to 1,200V on 4.4ghz.
Somehow, on 4,5ghz it needs a lot more, around 1.255V

The temps look good, and its the safe side of volts, but ita a lot for 4500mhz

I got a broski from another forum (Overclock.net), who has the same Maximus VI Formula mobo, delidded chipzor as well and for some reason he had to push 1.36v to obtain same speeds.

Just a turd of a batch I guess. Anything below 1.35volts on my setup I was getting 0x1024 (sp?) BSODs in OCCT in minutes.

I'm still planning to see if I can obtain higher multiplier but actually tweaking stuff in the BIOS further as this is just a simple manual OC - changed the voltage manually and dialed in a x45 multiplier everything else is AUTO.

I'm running my 4670K @ 4.4 1.18v stable on a UD4H with a Megahalems. I've passed IBT, Prime, OCCT and hours of gaming. Weird enough I was able to pass 15x IBT @ 1.16v but not OCCT until 1.18v, so always use multiple stress tests. It's batch L314A984 Malaysia.

Are you on F7? Good results btw.
I've never actually tested above 4.5, so I'm wondering if the voltage curve steepens only after 4.5 for you.

Yeah that's on F7.

And yeah it steepens after 4.5.

Edit: Just some extra info, my VRIN is 1.7 and RING (Uncore) is 1.10.

Yeah I've been meaning to reduce my vRIN (it's currently at 1.775 right now). I think I took it too low initially to 1.675v, when I didn't know what I was doing. I could definitely drop it more hmm.

I just got my 4670K to 4.7 stable at 1.35v. ASUS Sabertooth motherboard with 32GB GSkill Ares RAM, Corsair G70 case and Corsair H110i cooler. I de-lidded it first thing, and am running about 60-70C under full load depending on fan profile. Admittedly, my computer desk has poor ventilation - when it was in my basement for testing I was running at 50C under AIDA64

edit: I just realized I was not running FPU in AIDA, so i will be re-posting results....

Nope, Google brought me that one. I'll run it tonight. Stable in bf4 so far too.

Edit - thanks - those definitely tax my cpu a little more. 4.4 is better.

So has any devised what revision/steppings are good for these chips? I had seen someone saying B was low clock/high voltage. I'm guessing C0 is better?

My 4770k retail box shows Made in CR, and batch 332B488. I haven't chose to OC heavy, just using Turbo @ 4.0GHz with 1.1v. With a Hyper 212 evo hardly gets over 70c highest core.

Also got a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H and wondering if custom F8B mod 2 or just the beta F8B bios is worth going to?

TIA.

Um, try the latest versions? 27.9 / 28.1

Even at 4.4 @ 1.2v, about 15 minutes in, the 27.9 P95 tests change my temps SHOOT up, like from ~65C to over 90C.

Following this guide, he suggest do not stress test with a Hyper 212/Evo. I can see why. I think I'll test with x264 b/c apparently it isn't as brutal. I don't do critical work on my PC so as long as BF4 isn't crashing, I'm happy!

Edit just for the record - ended up at 4.2 @ 1.1v on air testing using AIDA64.

I got a 4770K with batch L322B390 last night. I am barely doing 4.2 @ 1.225. I cant for the life of me get 4.3 or 4.4 which I have tried @1.275.

Batch# 3313B775, Costa Rica
4770K

Currently 4.5Ghz, 45 cache, 1.225v with H110 push/pull.

4.6Ghz seems to give me trouble even with higher voltage. Can't complain though. I doubt I'd see any benefit from 4.6.

Batch# L315B332 Malaysia 4670k

4.6 @ 1.265v, 41 cache @ 1.250v with H80i

Temps are my limiting factor. Thinking I should delid.

Damn, can't even boot to windows at 4.7Ghz even at 1.325v

4.6Ghz still crashes in AIDA64. 4.5Ghz 45 cache seems to run stable all day.

Well, I decided for the first time since owning a computer to try to overclock my CPU. I set the multiplier to 46 and voltage to 1.200. It failed to boot into the OS Layer. So I set the voltage to 1.25 and it boots to desktop. Next I run wPrime 32M and it passes. The temps looked good. 1024M is ran and it still passes. The temps were 67, 67, 66, 61. I'm using a Hyper EVO+ 212 push configuration.

4770k?

Nice temps for the clocks. Not sure about the stress tester though. To get the max temps you need newer stress testing apps.

4770K Costa Rica Batch#3334C048
46xCore @ 1.265v
44xCache @ 1.2v
SA +.035v
Digital I/O +.020
Analog I/O +.020

What are my odds of getting to 4.2GHz with a 4770K? Not running 100% multi-thread load 24/7, just gaming, regular apps, sometimes 100% single thread compression for an overnight backup, etc.

Had 8 different chips through my rig, all of them would at least run stable at 42x and couple of them probably more than I gave them credit for if I had known a bit more about overclocking RAM.
