I have an issue with my Samsung UE55KS7500
I don't receive 4:4 :4, only 4:2:2
I enabled hdmi UHD color, slot hdmi 1
I tried with different hdmi cables
NCP settings are okay, full, 32 bit, etc etc
Who is the culprit for not receiving 4:4 :4?
GPU or TV?
Thank you

Did you read the manual? I have a 55MU6290 Sammy, and in the manual I discovered that I can only get 4:4:4 at certain refresh rates. I think 60hz was not included, so the desktop had to be at 23 or 25.

Looks like you have to be at 8 bit for 4:4:4, something to check.

I have already 32 bit, full
I guess, it's the graphic card
Right now I borrowed a R9 390x
I'll test it later today when I get home
AMD was not popular for 4:4 :4, right?

Yeah, you can't run HDR with 4:4:4, there isn't enough bandwidth.

make sure you have it off, and you should be good.

Try new HDMI 2.0 cable, and different input on the TV. it's the only thing I can think of.

I assume you're using the GPU in your sig?

There is no such thing as an "HDMI 2.0" cable. There are HDMI and High Speed HDMI cables. You need the latter for 4K 60 Hz.

I tried many hdmi cables
Yes, i have the gtx 1080 ti
I made this picture, with the mobile phone
I'm very confused with those shadows, edges, weird colors...

Why not post images directly on this site?
It makes viewing them easier rather than having to add an exclusion to my security settings and sometimes enable scripting for that site (I run a tight ship). Imgur is especially a pita for me.
And also means they wont vanish without trace when you least expect.

Okay, excuse me
I'll attach here 3 more pictures, made with the mobile phone, from YouTube
Graphic card : R9 390x, latest driver
Same story
I have absolutely no idea how to call this :
color banding? chroma subsampling? pixelated image?
Last think I could try, is the Samsung One Connect box

Displaying 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 wont make a difference for video (it is already 4:2:0) so something else is going on here.
Brightness looks to be very high but that could be the way the pictures were taken, though it would explain the banding.
Try higher backlight (if needed) and turn brightness down a lot.

If brightness level is ok and it still looks bad, try movie mode on the TV.
If it doesnt help, perform a reset on your TV and try again.

Looking at those pictures, and I don't know how a Samsung works, but on my Sony's, I need to set the Colour mode to 'Auto' and let windows drive it, and then it plays nice in RBG, 4:4:4, 4:2:2 etc. and doesn't look awful like those pictures.

Seems like the TV and Gcard aren't on the same 'page' so to speak.

Could your TV have one of those garbage "HDR Enhanced" modes? You know, the ones that turn on pretend HDR even for non-HDR content?

I just watched on TV, without the hdmi cables, without the pc
It looks awful, but only on darker background
It's the TV, not my gpu
I'll try to contact Samsung, to fix it but I'm afraid, it's gonna be expensive, so I'll buy another one
By the way, what would you recommend, 55 inches, curved?
For pc use, 100 %
Thank you
