3G = CMDA iPhone?

3G iPhone?

FA "UBS also believes that 3G-enabled iPhones will be released by mid-year"

Does the above story mean that a CDMA iPhone is coming eventually or is 3G just another network that GSM phones can use?
 
There are other types of 3G technologies.

"3G" CDMA = Evdo (Verizon/Sprint)


Saying the iphone is 3G just means it will support 3G speeds on ATT.

Dang, just did a little more reading, youre right. There goes my hopes of using an iPhone in my shitty area with CDMA service only
 
hmm I wonder if i should return my phone now...I just got it on sunday... (darn im going to loose 10 percent restocking fee)
 
good question. Anyways, I wonder if apple will do like a trade in program or somthing. That would be nice, im sure it would never happen.

Sucks we need to throw another 400 bucks for basically the same phone with faster internet. Come to think of it, my edge speeds are not that bad. Well, not 400 bucks bad.
 
again. the phone will be announced, or at least made public 6 months before it actually is available. apple cant pull their usual tricks here.
