39" 4k monitor/tv = $499

I want to see the 50" on someone's desk so I can get a size reference. I'm really tempted to get the 50...

OK, I'm an old fart with bad eyesight.

I bought the 50". It was too big to use for fun.

It went to work.

Now with the 39" ?

Still too big, but not as bad.

A 50" monitor makes you turn your head constantly. You will get pissed in a week.

More specifically ....

Can you see the text on a 20" 1920x1080 monitor?

If so, get the 39".

It's still fucking huge, the size of 4 high res 20" monitors, but it's easier on your neck.

Fair enough, I wonder how this compares to someone that has a 20+30+20 PLP setup though. I'd imagine that it's about the same head movement - but with a PLP it's much easier to organize your windows.

I have been very happy with dual Dell U3011's, tried many many setups, this was the best.

iirc its not able to do 120hz, it drops frames to 60hz for the 39"

refresh rate was more important on CRT's as the light actually flickered at that rate, with an LCD the lights stay on while the panel refreshes, making it much less noticeable

People are still repeating this disease of misinformation.
