Anyone see a comparison of a 3870 X2 & 3870 in CF and a 9800GX2?

Would be interested to see that as they would cost about the same.

Haven't seen one yet, but you could probably find a 3870X2+3870 benched against a GTS SLI configuration somewhere and extrapolate from there.

Thanks for the link. Don't feel too good about that review for some reason.

You'd think a X2 and 3870 would out perform a GX2, but maybe not. Both costs about the same and apparently two X2s are not worth the extra $200+ over one X2 and a 3870.

go with GX2 if you're not planning to do Xfire, this card is definately out perform a X2 + 3870. Test results shown from Anandtech reviews. The cheapest X2 is around $440 and a 3870 is about $200 (depends on which versions) = $640 but you can get GX2 for $600 and the driver will getting better and for sure they will go on sale or rebate later on. You still come out $40 + performance ahead with this card.

Quad X2 is not worth it.

The question is; How well the upcoming HD4000 X2 do against this card? Do you a patient to wait to find out???

Thanks for the summary. What stands out to me the most is power consumption under load.
