title says it all. i know there are very few of us on these forums. hehe, that makes us even more exclusive ;) . so what do ye fellow owners say?

Just pulled the trigger on this after several months of waiting. Today's BestBuy sale price made it too hard to resist any longer. Gonna take a week to get here tho :{ must..have...patience...

lol, kk nice. nice to know another fellow owner. hopefully more other owners see this thread

I will be in two weeks. I still want to know how it performs with xbox 360 and does it ghost badly in pc gaming? I heard it scales well but how is the picture quality outside of native since I will rarely be gaming in such high res. and is the ghosting more apparent?

Originally I was going to get the 2405 but if I can get the same or similar image quality at a greater size then the westinghouse is for me.

Although I did take a look at that new 60" Sony sxrd and it is beautiful with the same native res as the westinghouse but at almost $4,000 it may be overkill.

after playing WOW through DVI 1, I can tell you i notice pretty much no ghosting. however, when playing console games ghosting is more noticeable. i really wonder why that is. i've said it before, the dell 24in is most definitely going to be faster than the westy 37in. but i mean the westy IS 37inches. so it you have to balance the pros and cons

How about playing console games through component or svideo inputs? Ever try that?

There is no local bestbuy that carries it so I can't see it in action personally. I may end up buying it via their website then returning it to buy it for $300 less on ebay if I like it.

I can deal with the ocassional ghosting as long as the image quality is on par to the 23-24" monitors everyone loves.

What's your opinions of the build quality of this TV? Specifically, have you had any issues or problems with it, like dead pixels, poor scaling (outside native res), or interpolation (when viewing DVDs)?

This seems like a decent TV but the price scares me. It's got to be cheap for a reason, right?

ok best buy has the tv on sale right now for a lil bit over $1600. the quality is very comparable to name brands. i have absolutely no dead pixles on my unit. the scaling? well lets just say its an LCD. honestly, LCD scaling was never good in the first place so I can't really say how good the scaling is.

i have tried halo2 w/ composite on xbox. to be honest, if you are used to seeing nice sharp lines on a regular fat crt tv, lcd's still can't compete. its how much of the crappy quality you can put up with.

the lcd has incredible size, supports 1080p and a huge array of inputs. watching dvd's through a component dvd players looks pretty good. i haven't tried a 720p or 1080i console game yet, so i can't say on that. one thing the lcd is DEFINITELY made for is running 1920x1080 on dvi. It looks so so so so sweet and impressively sharp. if you guys thought the 24in dell made your jaws drop, this baby's sheer size and surprisingly impressive quality will make u change ur undies.

Thanks for the info on that sale!!

I will be purchasing one tomorrow... If it doesn't fit my needs I will just send it back to bestbuy and save up some more money for a few weeks and go hardcore for that 60" Sony sxrd >:)

Ok, this thing is monstrous:

(uh, thats my buddies Dell 2405 in the foreground for scale...)

Sitting within six feet of it is going to give you that "front row at the movie theater" feeling. Just too darn big, have to keep panning your head side to side to see it all.

1920x1080 on this monitor is awesome, and so far this one has no bad pixels which is nice. I haven't tried video or PS2 yet so can't comment on ghosting issues. No issues with ghosting on DVI (yet).

The black level is a little disappointing, but after adjusting the contrast and backlight I can live with it, not much worse than a 2405.

Pretty amazing piece of gear for $1600.

I turned the backlight off and the contrast up a tad. I think colours are all set to 60 now.

Blacks only look somewhat poor in a completely dark room. With a 40w lamp behind me on, the blacks are completely, absolutely 100% black.

I love this monitor. I would like to make love to it.

WoW for Christmas I had my heart set on hopefully buying the Apple 30" Cinema Display, but this baby is like $1000.00 less, and 20% larger ?

Question is what's the repsonse time, and how does it play BattleField2 ?

LOL - I'm not sure it has the correct port for that but... I must admit, I have caught myself leering at it and drooling a couple of times since I got it connected. Gotta drag my gaming machine over and play a little Q4 to burn it in...

Beyond that, judging by the pictures, I guess it's all down to who is willing to peel of their little blue Westinghouse sticker first.

In regards to this monitor vs. the ACD 30", the ACD has a lot more resolution at 2560x1600 than this one at 1920x1080. I guess it all boils down to what you want to do with the screen. ACD might be better for computing activities which generate money, but the lower resolution and larger size of the Westinghouse is prob. better for gaming. Also you don't need an expensive Dual Link video card for the Westinghouse like you do for the ACD.

I think I'm going to need a couple more of these so I can have a three panel setup. :D

It's perfect. 0 Ghosting.

My name in BF2 is "OMGLOLROFLWOOT"

Big question is, with this 37" at 1920x1080 vs let's say my current 24" Samsung at 1920x1200, wont I see alot more pixel's or jaggies because it is alot larger screen area to spread 1920 vs just 24" of 1920 ?

I run 2 or 4x AA in all my games.

On my 19" with 1280x1024 I had to run 4x AA to make the games look good to me as well, so for me, I cannot play any games without AA regardless of the size or resolution. AA is a must!

BF2 in 4xAA 16xAF with everything maxxed is smooth as silk and an amazing gaming experience on a 37" LCD screen. Awesome.

Please post a screenshot of Battlefield2 running on your baby, from like 2-3' away thanks

Does anyone's LVM-37W1 ghost on a source engine game (Half-Life 2, Sin: Episodes) or FEAR? I started a thread about it... feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have the 42'' westy that went on sale at best buy about a month ago, and battlefield is a joy to play. My BF2 name is "US_BoHammer".

I got mine a couple weeks ago and OMG I love it! It was pretty neat just because my last tv was 27" and was 640x480 native -- looked horrible. But then I watched some 1080 content that I downloaded ... WOWzer! Now I'm just going to have to save up enough money to buy a used 360 and hddvd drive when that comes out.

My friend also enjoyed the bigscreen, "Wow, I bet tits in porno's would be bigger than my head!"

I've had a 37W1, 42W2, and 37W3. I stuck with the 37W3 and don't regret it. Excellent display. Mine came with two dead pixels. I elected not to do an exchange. To much hassle and they are off in the upper left extreme corner out of view the vast majority of the time.

I'll have to take some glamour shots of my 37w3 in action - ive had it for a couple months now and it's great! It's definitely different using something so large, it's like I have a new poster on my wall every time I change the background
