3700x motherboard pairing (it's been awhile)

First off, when did motherboard shopping for AMD become so complicated? I feel like I need an electrical engineering degree to determine which boards will handle an OC well. Apparently RAM matters a heck of a lot more now too.

Just need a no-frills, yet quality motherboard that can easily handle a moderate OC on air. Recommendations would be neat.

get a b450 or better and pay attention to the vrm cooling. dont get anything without heat sinks.
