37% Of Steam Games Have Never Been Loaded

I take it to a new level...have a bunch of Humble Bundle games that I haven't even activated on Steam yet.
 
we must all be suckers.. buying games we dont play and some we will never play.. steam is the only winner here lol
 
I have a few. Some haven't been downloaded due to their size (I'll get them at work and then transfer later) and others I have but can't play optimally until I upgrade my system. I'll get to them this summer when the new Haswells come out.
 
Good chunk of mine are not as they were part of the original HL1 blue shift/various packs that came with HL1... heaaaps of games. Ricochet etc.

And many of them will have been installed pre-steam on other systems and now no longer played.
 
I get warm fuzzies legitimately paying for games now that I had previously pirated when I was younger.

Oh and THE DEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAALS! THE DEEEEEEEEEEEEALS!
 
I have about 40 games in my library, half of which I never played, and I typically have 2-3 games installed at any given point. My wallet hates steam!

Seriously, spare time is becoming such a luxury that it is something I now plan for very judiciously. Seeing the speed at which months go by made me sit down about this, think real hard, and made some choices. Appreciating and enjoying what you have, is just as important as planning ahead to what you aspire to.

I have to re-check my backlog... I've been busy playing mostly non-steam games... go figure

Actually, it probably depends on your point of view ...

- Steam is certainly a winner as they get 30% of the sale ...

- the software publisher and/or developer win since they get to split the remaining money (even if it was a sale price), also they get higher sales numbers and revenues which may benefit future projects or sales pitches

- the user benefits as they generally got a piece of software for a relatively low price, and some may do as I do and periodically try out old purchases to see if they are interesting ... not like they are going to suddenly disappear in the near future

350+ games in my Steam Library and I have likely played 70 and out of that only maybe 20-30 with any meaningful time.

I am a total sucker for the older games on sale.

Good find, Steve, but I really am surprised that number isn't higher.

It wouldn't surprise me that it's widespread. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has limited gaming time these days but still want to get in on these deals, lol.
 
Maybe if they made a choose your own adventure game that everyone could watch on youtube. Maybe people would play that:p
 
Steam has made so much money, on some many people, that don't even play the games they own. People are so stupid, that they just buy the games, so they can say. Look, look at how many steam games I have. I have more steam games than you.
 
Mine is more like 80%, maybe 90%. I have a lot of Steam games because when I'm really bored and don't feel like playing what I have, I'd browse Steam's library and find cheap games to kill time. Oft times I end up not liking the game or find out it'll take up a considerable amount of my time (I'm a dad), so it's sitting in my library collecting dust.
 
I played nearly every game I bought. The ones I don't are the ones I bought in a pack, more or less.
 
I have went through and made sure to load up every game in my library and exit out of them just so that I can not be part of 37% ;)
