What Im trying to find out is how to connect the phone and controller to a tv..I use the Aibocn 11 Pin Micro USB to HDMI Adapter Cable 1080P HDTV to connect to the tv but that takes up the input for the OTG cable...Is there a way to both have the phone plugged to tv and otg cable with controller setup?

Try something like this?

Looks like that would effectively kill the video connection due to limited bandwidth...

OP you thought about just buying an Android box like a Fire TV or Nvidia Shield? If I recall correctly, you've been fighting with this for a while. What you are trying to do isn't common and there are no turnkey solutions for it. Also Android OTG support isn't highly regarded. It's a wasteland of cheap adapters and workaround solutions that vary from phone to phone.

^^^^
An Nvidia shield controller costs $60, so that's like getting an off-brand one and a set top box for an extra $15. I'd jump on that. No more dicking around with connecting your phone to the TV either.

Well was hoping there was something cheaper since I already bought the wireless Xbox controller!? That cable posted above would not work? I think the bt gaming pads only work with root. With that madcatz can you add and play non android games and emulators if not then kind of pointless? Also read the madcatz controller does not support every game
Maybe this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CNRELJO?vs=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00Y8O8FKQ/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_7?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ANAH3A6D57PC9

As mentioned above, you can try one of those, but the connection to the HDTV uses a lot of bandwidth so you may not be able to use the controller and 1080P connection together. You can try it, it's not a lot of money wasted if it doesn't work.

Overall I think you are confusing things that might work with thing that are actually supported. You are trying to play downloaded ROMs on a patchwork emulator running on an Android phone while the phone is connected to your TV. This is super deep into "might work" territory. I've spent a lot of time with those MHL Micro HDMI adapters and in my experience they all suck (or the Android devices suck).

The Gamestick might work, but how long do you want to smash your head into a wall trying to get all this going when that cheap Chinese product lets you down?

I would buy a refurb Core 2 Duo PC for like $70 shipped and connect that to my TV. Then you can just run Windows and have the best emulation and controller support.

I've purchased many of those HP and Lenovo refurbs for family and friends from Newegg and never had an issue. Amazon rarely has them as cheap. Usually there are a few tiny dents in the case and that's it. Plug it in and go.

Only problem I see is there is no HDMI...the MHL Micro HDMI cord I have has worked flawlessly to mirror whatever is on the phone..

I've seen some similar cheap PCs with DVI, then you could just use a DVI to HDMI cable. Or you can keep fighting with Android :p

great find! Are there any dimensions on the size of the box?
