Hey all, I have a wireless 360 controller laying around and I also have the Microsoft eHome IR receiver. I remember a long time ago, it would detect the 360 controller, but that was in Vista not in 7, and I can't find any evidence that it's even supposed to work with this.

I saw that they sell a 360 adapter thing for the PC that is wireless and hooks up by USB, but I don't really see how it would need that, rather than just the regular old IR receiver.

Has anyone done this? I'd appreciate any input.

Thanks

The 360 controller uses bluetooth, not IR. You need the wireless receiver for it.

Oh okay I didn't knwo that. Thanks.

I got egg on my face now. Maybe I can find drivers and an emulator that works on my Mac Mini. that would be nice.

Sorry but thats not entirely accurate. I think you're thinking of the PS3 controllers. The 360 controllers use a 2.4ghz RF signal the same as bluetooth but isnt compatible so using bluetooth isnt an option.

The op either needs the wireless gaming reciever http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000MGVAAQ which i don't think is available seperately anymore with the exception of a few rare cases and ebay.

Or for approximately the same price he could get this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-360-Wi..._1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1262477419&sr=8-1 which includes a controller AND reciever.

Or for pretty much half that cost he could get the wired controller. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-360-Wi..._1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1262477528&sr=1-1

I'm using the wired controller for both 360 and pc. Got sick of having to plug the charge cable in half way through a session every couple of days.
