360 & BB replacement question

I finally got a RRoD on my 360 Elite. I'm getting a gift card for the original price from BestBuy when I send in my broken console so I can buy another 360... But do I really have to send in my hard drive too? I got a shyte load of live games, music, etc... I don't want to lose it all. Ideas?

get one of those adapters that lets you attach your 360 hard drive to your pc, dump contents onto pc hard drive, then put back on new hard drive when it arrives

Everything purchased on live are saved to your xbox live account so you can always download them again on the new xbox, as for the things not purchased through live, then those will be lost unless you "dump" it all to your PC, or get one of those transfer cables to transfer it to another xbox harddrive.

buy a second small (or big) hd, put that into the machine and send it off.

Just give it back to them less a HD and if they ask for it, take the new HD and give it to them.
