Given the choice which version of Vista is better to install factoring in current driver and app support? Also if 64bit which would run it better and I only ask because conroe is suppose to be faster than the X2 but I've heard AMD's got better 64bit.

At this point in the game it would be 32 bit hands down....Vista doesn't even support it's own Windows Live OneCare for the 64 bit plartform. The driver scene will improve greatly over the next few months, but in the immediate future, 32 will be the predominate factor

It's way to early to make any final decisions on Vista64 because no one knows for sure about the drivers (availability / stability). No one is being forced to buy or make a Vista decision right away.

As far as the processors, one company doesn't have better 64 bit support than the other. Performance wise, though, the Conroe chips are at the top of the list. If I was building a new system today, in anticipation of Vista, I'd go with a Conroe, hands down.
