I decided to centralize my data and ordered a Synology last night but ended up canceling when I realized that none of the internal bays support NTFS-formatted drives. I basically have no option but to buy new drives, format them to Btrfs/EXT4, and then transfer the data over from my PC, correct?

Or copy the data to a holding location and wipe/reformat the existing drives in RAID within the Snyology. This or new drives are your only options. Synology/QNAP/NAS devices are all built on highly customized Linux kernels. JBOD with NTFS drives is barking WAY up the wrong tree.

It's hackable but it's not a good idea in the long run.... Asustor (better bang for the but than Synology and QNAP in most cases) supports NTFS out of the box from what Google tells but I would recommend you switching to a native filesystem. FreeNAS has the same "issue".
