that is a dam good price.

I'm still in love with my 290x. It has been a great card so far. I think dollar for dollar, nvidia has always been a more pleasant experience for me, but AMD's value has never disappointed.

Keep in mind they are almost EOL and the new series is supposedly right around the corner.

For a second there, I thought this was double-DVD pack workout video.

The 390x pricing isn't known yet though, and it might be quite some time before they drop it. Its also delayed until June I thought, no?

And its performance definitely isn't going to match two 290x's, although certainly it beats one.

Video cards are only "EOL" when you can't play the games you wanna play...;)
I got a 280x and 7950 in Crossfire for games like BF3, and BF4, but I still like to fire up Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Soldier of Fortune II, both of which are over 10yrs old...

It's still the second fastest card on the market.

Honestly, at $233 even if AMD's new card were released today it is still an amazing deal!

$233 for a good 4K capable card. Nothing else with this kind of performance comes even REMOTELY close to it at this price.

Two fans, is this loud vs. a three fan card?

OOS. To be expected at that price...

NCIX Canada still seems to have some in stock.

I say this to everyone, but if you have multiple monitors, please be aware that Hawaii will run at close to full speeds at idle because the second monitor will flicker at normal idle speeds. Did the same thing with my 7950 Tahiti. If you think Hawaii heat and power consumption is bad during gaming, try all of the time in Windows. Hoping they fix this issue in the next gen.

UGH, speaking of 4k, i just got this monitor driven by my MSI Twinfrozr R9 270 gaming, and so far I strongly dislike it. I'm using win7 64 bit with 125% scaling and it's just not easy on my eyes. I strongly prefer the 1920x1200 res my 24" Asus monitor provided. CS:GO and Diablo 3 look amazing, but web browsing with Firefox, Spotify, and Steam are now simply annoying because everything is too small!

Plus, there's a known flickering issue with this monitor using DP1.2. I just purchased an HDMI2.0 cable from amazon, so hopefully that will fix it, but so far I'm unimpressed by the 4k experience. I know my GPU isn't exactly capable of optimizing 4k, but I'm not having issues with gaming, just normal day-to-day usage.

Great price and tempting but I'm unsure of buying a card by PowerColor. Not exactly one of the Big 3 card manufacturers. Not sure how much that matters though.

Asus is one of the worst if not worst company for videocard RMA support... in my many experiences.

My few RMAs with Asus were all done in under 1 week back in my rigs so YMMV apparently. I really can't complain.

Those powercolors are super tempting... I have 670 SLI now with an HX 850 corsair on a 1440 monitor. It actually gives me reasonable fps (50+) on most games max without SLI but I have a hankering to buy 2 of those 290x's but I think my PSU might not be ideal for that setup.

Whats your PSU? Sometimes people are overly conservative about what they think is or is not adequate for a dual card setup. It's not a bad thing, but you don't necessarily need a 1000w PSU for 2 cards.

Same boat but I have an x750 and I know I wouldn't be comfortable with two 290x's. I plan on going 3440x1440 and no single gpu video card is going to max out the setting right now, so unless I upgrade the PSU also, I need two cards that comfortably overclock (along with an overclocked CPU) on a 750 watt power supply. Those 750 watts used to be a pretty good overkill.

The hx850 should be fine since you only have a six and an eight pin on each 290x. 80 plus gold rating helps as well. If overclocking, it's a different story.

I have 2 R9 290s modded to 290x on a HX850 and they are running perfectly fine. You should be ok with the HX850, but the HX750 would be cutting it really close.
