$289 XFX PV-T71G-UDF7 GeForce 7900 GT PCI Express 256MB DDR3 Video Card

funny, i just bought that a minute ago, saw the price last night. $20 less than the 'egg.
 
It's a decent price, but it's only the 470/1370 stock speed version (PV-T71G-UDF7). I got the 520/1500 Extreme version (PV-T71G-UDE7) for $299 last week.

prices have risen since release. congrats on your card though.

I found mine instock at newegg (the 520/1500 version) on Monday night, ordered it and it shipped Tuesday afternoon. It should arrive to me today sometime, possibly tomorrow, according to tracking :D ! The 520/1500 models I have seen people over on XS and here getting speeds of 570-600 core and 1750-1850 memory, so I can only hope mine overclocks as well!

at stock, the gt is a bit better :)

Yep. The 7900GT and 7800GTX both have 24 pipelines each, the stock speeds are as follows:

7800GTX 256MB: 430/1200
7900GT: 450/1320

The 7900GT is about 5% faster than the 7800GTX from the reviews i've seen. Plus the 7900GT runs cooler.

I <3 my 7900GT. Overclocked (545/1750), it's just a tiny bit slower than a stock 7800GTX 512MB.
 
Geforce cards are sure cheaper than there ATi counterparts...
If I was ready to upgrade I would switch to Geforce line just to save a few hundred bones..
I would spend the extra $25-35 to get the PV-T71G-UDE7 extreme eddition...
