I think this is dead already; only showing 3rd party sellers. There's a cord on sale for 8 bucks, but that's clearly not the same thing, so I don't know what the heck Amazon is doing there.

It's dead from the original seller who could get you to $8 with the discount
 
Yep, once the original seller goes out of stock, it rolls over to other vendors with the product.
 
Just bought this from a third party seller. It was $9.99 and the promo code in the OP dropped it to $2.99, all came to $5.53 after tax and shipping.
