I am thinking about pairing the 3000 64bit processor with the msi neo board. Would i see a difference from my 2500xp barton @ 3200?

Thanks!

in things like video encoding you will see a big jump in performance, but not too big of a difference in games.

with that 6800 card you should see a bit of difference in frame rates. perhaps even enough to go up one level in monitor depth (example 1024x768 up to 1280x1024) while keeping all other things equal. Is that possibility worth the upgrade cost? Dont think so.
Say just how good is that 6800 anyway?

Well I have a chance to sell my current mobo processor and add a little to get the a64 setup. Is the MSi Neo Nforce 3 board currently the most popular for overclocking?

and this 6800gt is an awesome card, I have been through a 9500pro/9700pro/9800pro and loved all three cards, this 6800gt is like being on a new level of gaming, I recieved the card for free (sorta) for building asystem for my work. So don't worry about purchase justification swaying my opinion. It's truly an amazing card.

you could always oc the A64 to 2.2ghz (seems the norm) and then it would be definatly better. Not sure whether it is enough for an upgrade.
