Hello. I am interested in buying a HDTV (Samsung UN55H8000) which has a panel that is 240HZ and said HDTV has 2.0 HDMI connections. Does that mean that if I connect my PC through the HDMI 2.0 output to the TV I could choose a refresh rate higher than 60HZ and thus if my GPUS have the power of doing so I could play at more than the limited 60FPS?

Thank you for your answers.

240Hz means that backlight refreshes at 240Hz. Input signal refreshes typically max. 60Hz.

My Vizio P70 has 1080p@120hz input and it's pretty amazing.

BTW I tested a Samsung 4K 9000 TV and it had pretty bad input delay, buyer beware.

Could there be a TV or display that could do this? Yes HDMI 2.0 has enough bandwidth for 240Hz @ 1080p. Unfortunately there are no displays currently capable of this.
