24'' (16:10) vs 27'' IPS monitor for work, help me decide

Hello,

Would you please suggest an IPS monitor for work, web and occasional photo editing next to my 1080p (16:9) gaming monitor?

I am used to from my work to 24'' 1080p (16:10) however I'm willing to try the 27'' 1440p. I'm just not sure if it's worth it to my gaming monitor.

I'm now struggling between Dell U2415 and Dell UltraSharp U2717D

Don't really understand what you mean. If you want to replace your gaming monitor and have 1 monitor for work and games then by all means go for the 27".

If budget is very important and you keep your gaming monitor as well the 24" is not a bad choice either. Text will be sharper on the 27", available desktop space will probably will be approximately the same (if you are used to 24" monitors you will scale the 27" to 125) as well.

For multi monitor use a second 1080p monitor of the same size as your gaming monitor would probably be the best choice (I personally don't like multi monitor setups and prefer single 32" monitors).
