my Situation is, a domain controller running windows 2003 server, ms sql 2000, and a few other misc databases is on a PC with RAID 5, the RAID is fine, but the motherboard is failing.. the motherboard is a gigabyte s939 with a x2 3800 AMD cpu

i have a new rig almost ready to go for another less important task, and i would love to switch the server over, but its a Q6600 Core 2 quad, running on a ASUS board with DDR2 Ram.

thats a big change, now the OS was installed was 32 bit, but im wondering if there is a sysprep, or redetect hardware on next boot option so i could simply move the raid over and redetect hardware, install drivers and im laughing. or if im better off just cutting my losses and rebuilding the array from backups (i would still have to recreate the entire active directory)

its a pretty important server, so downtime is not my friend :(

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

thanks
