they already are 
if you want them outside of the server environment, wait for ddr2 to mature a bit more, and for program memory demand to rise some more. atm, more than 2gb isn't needed for most things outside of the server world, so companies aren't going to spend the money creating 2gb sticks that are not ecc/buffered
