Looking at 27" monitors and having a real hard time justifying the added cost of G-sync. Is it worth it really? I'm curious if you guys have experience with 1ms monitors and G-sync monitors side by side. Actual gaming monitor not just some dell next to a G-sync. I couldn't find a really good HD video comparing them.

It's not really something you can compare in a video.
The best you could do is show that G-Sync displays a tear-free image while a display with V-Sync Off tears.

But that doesn't demonstrate how much smoother gameplay is on a G-Sync monitor.
With a regular monitor you only get truly smooth gameplay when your framerate is locked to the refresh rate.
That's something a lot of PC gamers aren't used to, because many of them will disable V-Sync or use Triple-Buffering.

The best thing to do would be to load up an older game which is not technically demanding at all, reduce the "max pre-rendered frames" setting to 1 in the game profile, and enable v-sync.
That should give you a perfectly smooth framerate equal to your refresh rate. G-Sync will be that smooth all the time, even in newer games where we simply don't have the GPU power to lock the framerate.

I don't know if it's worth it but I've never had a LCD monitor over 60Hz so I'm definitely getting a 27" 144Hz monitor. I've decided on the Acer XB270HU as it pretty much checks all the boxes on my want list. I've read good things about G-Sync so I definitely want to give that a try.

I have a VG248Q (144Hz) and upgraded it with the GSync kit. I think both high refresh rate and Gsync are 'never go back' features. As in, once you've been gaming with them you don't want to play on anything else. Unfortunately, it's difficult to demonstrate the benefits without having the tech and playing on them yourself. I've always been sensitive to vsync and tearing issues, so your milage will vary.

So which of the lowest priced 27" monitors are best? Ftom what it sounds like 2k is something you don't go back from either.

You won't see any benefit to Gsync if you're gaming with Vsync on and maintaining framerate = refresh rate at all times. E.g. 120hz or 144hz in counter-strike global offensive or something. Since FPS will be equal to refresh rate, you won't have any tearing or stuttering anyway, so there won't be anything gsync can do in this case. In that case you're better off enabling ULMB/blur reduction or whatever strobing tech the monitor has and enjoying not having any motion blur at all.

Gsync (and freesync) come into gaming benefits when the framerate drops BELOW the target refresh rate or you get an inconsistent framerate (e.g. on most newer games that are not counter-strike). That's when you truly see what it can do for you, and a video won't help; you would have to game on one.

I own a xb270hu. . Best gaming monitor I've ever used and has been worth the price. Once it drops to $500 getting two more.

One advantage of Gsync in that situation is that you can use a command in the game to limit your FPS, which allows you to avoid the input lag caused by V-Sync but still not have any tearing.
