Hey guys, I have a Sony HMD A200 17" Trinitron monitor. I bought this thing open item from Best Buy several years ago for $250. It was a DAMN nice CRT up until about a week ago, it just suddenly died while one of my friends was using it. When you plug the thing in, you can hear a faint ticking sound. Kinda like it's arcing. Is it even worth fixing this damn thing? (assuming someone other than Sony CAN repair it.) Sony wants $284 to repair it, which is more than what the thing sold for new by my recollection. I definitely will not work on it myself. So should I just be planning to take the thing out to the farm and put a couple rounds from my 25-20 into it?

Buy a new monitor, you've gotten several years out of it already, let it rest in pieces. :D

fixed :p *cackles maniacally*

That's what I figured. After looking in [H]ot|Deals I can get an LCD for what that CRT cost me. After I got my Dell Ultrasharp 17" I vowed to never again buy a CRT.
