Hiya people!

Im using a old ass p3 833 with a POS vid card. Im super broke and havent been following hardware for a long time. i need some help.

I have 2k CDN to spend. about $1600 usd. I dont play FSP games ... probably because ive never had a pc that could run them HA!

Can some of you pros hook me up with a solid config? Im guessing A64 + nVidia.

I'd get a MSI K8N Neo2 socket 939 board, a 3200+ A64 cpu to go with it.
2*512 TCCD Memory (GSKill is cheap and good at excaliberpc.com)
nV 6800GT from your prefferred manufacturer

That rigth there is $1k or so but those are the parts that will be raping the games. There is an Antec case at newegg that comes with a 430w Truepower for under a Hundred. Thats pretty good because it's killing two birds with one stone with both being quality. You have the room in the budget to do better but I dont know if you are figuring a monitor in there. Ah well, spread the rest of the money on HDD's, optical drives, and fans as needed. You can get Dual layer DVD burners for really good prices at newegg as well.

yeah, depends what you want, but $1600 USD will get you a pretty good system (not counting a monitor)
