Hello all,
Looking to move up our server from 8 300GB Seagate 15K SAS drives in RAID10 to something a lot faster.
Based on a quick check, the old server is a SB-E Xeon with these Seagate Savio 15k 15.3s
I was looking at having 4 960GB Micron 5100 PROs in RAID 10. I know this will be faster, but how much faster?
Main use for this is our OLTP Oracle based database, 350-400GB in size.
Related to the above question, I'm currently speccing out a new server to replace our old one. WRT to Enterprise SSD Pricing, I have an HP dealer charging me about 2300$ (including tax) for each piece of SSD.
HPE 960GB SATA 6G Mixed Use SFF (2.5in). I'm quite sure this is on the high side, but would like confirmation. The actual server being quoted without the drives are cheap though.
Any input would be a lot of help!
Thanks!
