I want to put a 140mm fan onto a 120 mm size heatsink using a fan shroud. will i lose cfm reducing the 140 mm to a 120 mm ?
cant find any info on this.
all i can find is using a 120 mm fan onto a 140 mm rad..
Stick with a good 120mm fan on the HS, something like the GT line of fans. Shrouds tend to cause turbulence etc which will often make the 140mm perform worse than the 120mm, and as of right now, I do not know of any 140mm fan that will top a GT on a HS, even without a shroud. Many people are even using the GT's on 140mm rads because they perform that well.
