13in Macbook Pro (2013)

So I had someone give me a Macbook that has a busted screen. Just get bands of magenta lines. It does boot and using an external monitor I can see the login screen. Is there a good place to find replacement screens for these things? I have done some searching and most are around $300. $100 I would burn but $300 is more than I care to spend on a 4 year old laptop. other then the screen the machine is in perfect working condition.

iResQ has $199 service to replace the LCD with one that works. Have you had a chance to open it and check the connection cable?

Yeah I checked all the cables and they are solid. I can kinda see images in between the magenta lines.

That's for the pre-Retinas. Assuming the OP has an actual 2013 model, it's a Retina.

More than likely the logic for the display has failed. Unsure if they would charge the $375 or have to replace the entire thing ($749).

Yeah it is a 2013. I am just going to use it as a desktop. HDMI output is fine, same with Thunderbolt. Hopefully one comes in with a bad logic board lol.
