Don't think I've seen another 7870 break 8,000 posted yet anywhere. Clocked it at 1337MHz for the hell of it since there was that rumor about a 1337 version 7970 a while back :D

Reference PowerColor 7870 @ 1337/6100 @ 1.3v
i5-2500K @ 4.5GHz
8GB DDR3-1600 @ 9-9-9 @ 1.25v

3DMark Score P8107

Graphics Score 8150
Physics Score 8167
Combined Score 7723

The reference cooler is far from quiet at this speed/volts. I wasn't monitoring temps, so I'm not sure how hot it was getting, but I imagine pretty hot.

Using the latest drivers from AMD's website.

Haven't played with RAM settings at all.. they are low-voltage 1600MHz G.Skill Snipers @ XMP settings (9-9-9-24-2T) I imagine I'd get some improvements out of tightening the timings quite a bit

Also haven't played with the 7870 much really. Been running it at 1250/1450 since the day I got it back a week or so after they were available. Just recently discovered the ASUS software that opened up the ranges a bit and have been running it at 1250/1500 for a few days. Then disovered TRIXX that allows voltage tweaking. Jumped straight to 1.3v and went to 1300MHz stable, then 1337MHz stable, and then 1350MHz unstable (unable to complete 3DMark11).

Have no idea how stable it is in terms of gaming, but with how loud this fan gets at this speed/voltage, I don't think I'd be using it at these speeds anyways. Just wanted to see what it could do :D

I might play around a bit some more with RAM timings and such to see how high of a score I can squeeze out of it, but I'll likely spend more time working back the other way to see how far I can undervolt it at like 1200/1500.

Sounds like a great card. I can only manage about 8000 out of my 580 gtx @ 1000 mhz hehe. But the temps it hits at that speed are insane.

I had a heavily overclocked MSI lightning GTX 580 that scored in the upper 7k range....7.8-7.9k if memory serves. Definitely a nice score!

That is kick ass. I think some of the 7850s can do the same.
