$120 device that boosts your TV's audio

What do you think of this device for $120 that basically just boosts the audio level up for you,
 
I personally would rather spend $120 towards a soundbar. If it was $60 or less I would consider using it.
 
Sounds like (hah) it reduces the range, rather than simply boosting the volume. So, loud explosions are a little quieter compared to dialogue that's happening at the same time. It may also boost the volume a bit, but I would wager it does a little processing of the signal to compress everything into a smaller dynamic range.
 
So basically your TV is still going to sound like crap because it has since tiny speakers that can't accurately reproduce highs or lows regardless of what you send it, but it will sound like slightly better crap. All this does is turn your normal TV sound into those super annoying loud commercials. Good product here.

This costs more than a sound bar and uses just as many cables. This is solving a problem nobody wanted fixed.
