I recently purchased a MacBook for my wife, and realized we needed some cables as the ones we'd used for her old MacBook were all obsolete now. So I went a little crazy and picked up a few different adapters, knowing I'd likely need them for myself when I upgraded. I honestly expected that this would support my TV, but was pleasantly surprised when it worked perfectly with my 4k display and old 1080p monitor- my current MacBook pro barely does that, and not at all over HDMI. I've used it several times to put movies on the TV for my kids, and I've had no issues - plug it in and go. I also picked up their multiport AV adapter, which is similar but allows charging and a USB A port. This one's going to stay connected to the display and act like a docking station, while this one's going into the go bag.
