Too expensive and not needed for gaming at this point.
That's what they said about having 2MB of ram on my Cirus Logic 5430 onboard PCI. Or my addon 3DFX Canopus Pure3D 6Meg. Not needed and too expensive for gaming. Aka wanted to sell it high and early before competition wiped the floor with them with HBM2.

The fury X with HBM1 is a joke. Go ahead and wait for AMD to do a HBM2 card, they still won't beat Nvidia right now.

You suffer from insufficient logic.

Tastes differ. I think Xtreme design and it Aorus sibling are great. That heatsink and fan design were the reason I got my 1080 at launch.

Sii the thing is not everybody likes to air cool their gpu. I doubt the Aorus will get a third party waterblock, but I'm sure the asus Strix will.

I put an Accelero Xtreme III on my 1080ti FE and it is the dogs danglies.
Max gaming temp is around 54C, ambient 21C.
Stress testing with Heaven for a long time maxed out at 59C.
I got an extra 39MHz from the lower temps, peace of mind and peace to my ears.
Core clocks range from 2025 to 1987MHz and its bloody quiet with fans maxed.

It wasnt a simple fit but at only £52 extra its worth it.

Does the accelero cover all bases? Are VRM's cooled properly...etc?

Yes, I managed to cool everything the heatsink touches with some tweaking.
I get the feeling that not everything needs cooling, some cooling contacts are possibly needed because of the bad temps with the default cooler letting surrounding components get too hot.

The kit I bought did not include instructions for the 1080ti, it must be older but includes the same parts, I checked.
The kits bought direct from Arctic Cooling say they support the 1080ti.
If you want direct instructions its probably wise to get the more recent kit, you can also get support if needed.

Nooooo! I need it on Amazon. Curses!

Why? You like paying taxes on your tech toys?

Asus has some deal going with newegg when I had to return a workstation board the rep told me as much and that's why they don't offer refunds on their motherboards "anymore."

I like how B&H sent me an email after I ordered the MSI Gaming saying due to system error it was never really in stock. Quality store they are running there.

I'm in CA and pay taxes either way. Especially since Newegg and I live in the same state.

I just have some Amazon money to spend lol.

Ok that makes sense. I'm not sure they'll get stock for a while because the last in stock is blank at nowinstock (see the link below).

https://www.nowinstock.net/computers/videocards/nvidia/gtx1080ti/

if you go to amazon's product pager for it you'll see that it's in placeholder mode:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-lis...TF8&condition=all&tag=nisa-20&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

if you really want the card you are better off getting it from newegg for the foreseeable future.

Man, who in his right mind will even look at the card with great air cooler, just to peel it off for sli, when you can (should) do this with stock cards anyway. Makes no sense to even look at those aib models.

guys newegg has the seahawk and apparently it WAS in stock about 30 minutes ago.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...126&cm_re=1080_ti_11gb-_-14-137-126-_-Product

Was in stock for a total of about 3-4 minutes and I picked one up :D. Should be arriving later this afternoon! I went with overnight rush shipping just in case there was some sort of issue with supply & I didn't want to receive the good ole "The card you wanted is out of stock now and you're SOL." email

You suffer from insufficient logic.
HBM2 != more ram
HBM2 = more bandwidth for the ram at better latency. It likely will actually be slightly less ram. But what I was referring to is people saying that the future of technology will never be needed cause we won't use it. Such as this classic: "640K ought to be enough for anybody" by Bill Gates. The quote most people think was Gates was ""No one will need more than 637 kB of memory for a personal computer"" That was actually a IBM engineer in the 1970's at a trade show. But you should now get the idea.
Technological progress will be used. Saying we don't need HBM2 isn't forward thinking. I can wait for the technological leap rather than spending a ton of money on old tech from 2010.

Your original logic didnt represent what you want to say.
Perhaps you can think of reasons why HBM2 isnt feasible?

I gave up on waiting for Microcenter to get me a 2-slot AIB custom card (that has a backplate) and just grabbed an MSI FE. I would have prefered EVGA, but MSI is the only thing they had in stock. I suppose with an FE the brand doesn't matter anyway. Maybe the blower style will be better for my mITX case anyway (phantek enthoo evolv)

I'm NOT going to do Nvidia SLI.

Stock PCB designs use cheap parts I'd rather pay extra for a design that can a) handle a little extra heat and b) OC if I want to(the stock OC out of the box is nice too).

In terms of an air cooler it's better than stock, but I wish they'd pump the air out the back of the case. If I can't mount a 120mm fans to an air cooler it sucks. Those three fan coolers trap too much heat near the chipset or worst my add in cards like my raid controller or sound card. Water is the best way to go for 250w GPUs because you can pipe that heat out of the case quick.

Take a look at the waterblock from EK on the 1080 strix https://www.ekwb.com/news/ek-releases-asus-gtx-1080-strix-full-cover-water-block/

It's single slot design that air coolers these days can't match. Why would you want to use air cooling on a 250w gpu?

MSI GAMING X is in stock right now.

Also when you register the card you can get the Ghost Recon Wildlands DLC to go along with the base game that you get in the promo.

Got my PNY reference card in, going to be putting it under water in a few weeks. Cranked out a nice 19,000 FS score with my 1700X though.

Anybody know if the Kracken g12 works with the ti? Is it a 2 slot solution if so? I'm interested, but anything larger than 2 slot is a no-go for me

Um it isn't:
